		<description>Todd,

Thank you very much for the feedback. I’ve been watching the market carefully myself and just like you have noticed a bounce in prices contrary to my prediction. Believe me, this situation has given me a lot of concern given the extent of my dire warnings.

Every day I’m talking to guys at the auction to try and find out what’s going on. While I’m not sure of it, I think that we are seeing buyers at the auction that have not been there for the last several sales due to the holidays. I think you get the idea, they’ve been told to go to the auction and gets cars since there hasn’t been a lot of buying over the past 4 weeks. Yet another hypothesis is that as you know, BMW’s have been fairly scarce at the auction in the past, and now they are plentiful because their franchise dealers have been passing on them. This phenomenon may be due to some pent up demand.

I guess, I’m still committed to the belief that most of it is due to a post-holiday bounce, and it will settle down and continue to go down over the remaining weeks in January and February. I’m definitely not too proud to publicly admit that I might have been wrong, but I think it’s too soon to know. Please continue to help me analyze and understand what’s going on out there.

Thanks, Dale</description>

<description>I read your article last month titled “Watch the Market Carefully” and exercised restraint with buying cars before the end of the year. Contrary to your projections, pre-owned BMW prices have gone through the roof in January. An example would be 2005-2006 BMW X5’s bringing $3-5k over MMR. How do you see the high line pre-owned market going the next few months? Should we be buying now to stock our lots only to find out we are competing with lots who bought their inventory much cheaper than us last month?

		<description>Dale,
I agree with your views on the BUYERS MARKET. The BUYERS MARKET as you describe it started about 3-4 weeks ago in the world of Nissan. Ive been stealing cars. Clean, One Owner cars all over the country. You know the old saying ABC - Always Be Closing. I believe whole heartedly in that, but I also believe in ABB - Always Be Buying!

Happy New Year,

		<description>Matt,

Thanks. Honestly, I hope I’m wrong about my predictions. The market will eventually improve, the question is when and will it get worse before it gets better. Also, are we all talking about the same market?

The market that I’m referring to is primarily the wholesale automobile market. I think that it’s going to be extremely deflationary for the next couple months. I don’t know any other thing that can happen when there is unprecedented supply with pressure for liquidation and unprecedented low demand from dealers that have weak retail demand and limited cash or credit availability.

<description>Dale, No problem. I talked to a banker that thought the market would improve in January vs. December. Also got input from the NCM people and they seem to think the market will improve as well. We will sure find out quickly.
